One of my very favourite bars in Vancouver. The staff is friendly and attentive (and unreasonably good-looking) and helpful with any questions you may have about their impressive beer list. The food menu is diverse but doesn’t feel disjointed. Whoever the chefs are, they’re killing it. They play great music and they even show the sports shows for those who want those, but for those who don’t, it isn’t distracting. Lots of space and great for large groups, but you could also bring a potential bonerjam there and they would at least know you have good taste in bars. (The rest is up to you.)

Food was fantastic! Loved the fun vibe they have going. Smash burgers were on point and the kimchi stir fry was delicious! Lots of space and I could mention that it’s 100% wheelchair accessible. Definitely do recommend this place for any event big or small.

Went for a creative meet up event. Great selection of food and drink. Amazing space for entertaining. There's a gallery in the back showcasing local artwork which is always appreciated and a pool table in the main dining area. I'll have to come back to try it as a regular patron but what they're offering is greatly appreciated in Vancouver!

I hosted my husband's 40th birthday! Ray, Kate & Jason the rest of the team at The Pleasant are so very professional and made the whole process of party planning much easier! Food was exceptional - they really considered how things were served so nothing was soggy etc - something I didn't have the experience to even think about. Drinks: There is an extensive craft beer list, wines, & unique and yummy cocktails - something for everyone! Private room: The venue was great, we had the big private room (14' ceilings), which was perfect for the kiddos. Everyone had a great time, and most importantly the birthday boy did. Party planning is not easiest and they made it very "pleasant" @ The Pleasant :)

An enjoyable spot for food and drinks with family and friends. Staff were friendly and welcoming right from the get-go. There’s many seating options that can accommodate all group sizes - even a private event space. Earlier in the day The Pleasant seems emptier but towards the evening, it tends to fill up. Be prepared for a very lively and social atmosphere, especially during big games. We made short work of some tasty and unique food offerings such as the Pulled Pork Wonton Nachos (personal favourite at the moment), Kimchi Mac n' Cheese, and Pork Belly Tacos. The wonton nachos were a great plate to share. Choices for drinks were plentiful, maybe even slightly overwhelming (in a good way!). With some helpful recommendations from staff I found the Joyride Cider, Would Crush, and the Pineapple Coco Sour to be quite delightful. The pool table is a highlight here, a fun activity with friends. In addition, there were plenty of TVs - you won't miss a game here! It's clear the amount of thought and passion that's gone into this place. I'd wholeheartedly recommend checking The Pleasant out if folks are looking for a casual spot to grab food, drinks and hangout.

Sarah convinced me to watch Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final here instead of my usual spot on the couch. Initially skeptical - the name "The Pleasant" screamed hipster establishment that would serve kombucha instead of proper beer and have servers with handlebar mustaches explaining the "craft brewing philosophy." Pleasant surprise (pun intended): they actually know how to pour a decent beer. Their Pleasant Lager reminded me of the good old Labatt Blue days at Pacific Coliseum - crisp, cold, and straightforward without any unnecessary fruit infusions or "notes of elderflower." Sometimes you just want beer that tastes like beer. The atmosphere was perfect for playoff hockey - big screens, proper volume levels, and a crowd that actually understood the game instead of treating it like background noise. Felt like the old days when watching hockey was about hockey, not about posting Instagram stories of your "game day experience." Only drama came when Sarah's friend showed up wearing an Oilers jersey. Didn't know Sarah was friends with Edmonton fans - that's the kind of information a father should have in advance. Got into a heated discussion with this kid about Leon Draisaitl, trying to explain how he's not significantly better than Sergio Momesso in his prime. Different eras, sure, but Momesso had grit that these modern players lack. The argument got loud enough that other patrons started staring, but Sarah mediated before management had to intervene. Her friend clearly doesn't understand hockey history, but at least she's passionate about the game. Florida won 5-1 to take the Cup - second year in a row now. Walked home feeling vindicated about my pre-season prediction that the Panthers were built for playoff success. Sometimes experience trumps flashy regular season stats. Would return for future playoff games, just maybe with advance warning about any Edmonton fans in Sarah's social circle.

We had a big group (25) come for a casual get together. The space works well for large groups and the staff were really helpful with booking it. People could come and go and it didn’t matter that some people came a bit later - so that worked out perfectly! It’s also kid friendly so our friends with kids found it easy too
